Earley Open Evening

Thursday 13th February 2020 from 1930 until 2100 – We are inviting anyone in Year 8 of Secondary school who may be interested in a career in the armed forces, aviation or anyone who just wants to do something a little bit different, to come along to our recruitment night at our Squadron Head Quarters.

Head over to 1996 Squadron and we can give you an idea of what the Royal Air Force Air Cadets has to offer!

Goodbye CWO Gandhi, Hello CI Gandhi

End of an era at 2210 Squadron. Cadet Warrant Officer Priyanka Gandhi said goodbye to 2210 Cowley Squadron as a cadet having her 20th birthday in the following days. CWO Gandhi will following her birthday will be joining the adult volunteer team as a civilian instructor with 2210 Cowley Squadron. Thank you for your service and dedication and welcome to the adult volunteer team!

Didcot at the WAC

On the weekend of the 2nd of February to mark the foundation of the Air Training Corps on the 5th of February 1941 cadets from 2410 (Didcot) Squadron took part in a multi activity day with Rock Climbing, Archery and Shooting taking place at the Thames Valley Wing Air Cadets Activity Centre in Abingdon.

ATC Sunday – Visit To The Raf Museum

The Air Training Corps was founded on 5 February 1941, and the nearest Sunday to the anniversary is known as ‘ATC Sunday’. Many Squadrons mark this day by organising events with an aviation historical theme, and 1315 (Kidlington) Sqn is no exception. Last year, we visited the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, and this year it was the turn of the RAF Museum, Cosford.

Abingdon Open Evening

Our first open evening for 2020 will be held on the 28th January 2020 between 1930 and 2100hrs. If you are or know of anyone in year 8 or aged between 12 and 16, and they are interested in joining in all of our events and activities please email us on 2121@aircadets.org for further information.

Thames Valley Wing goes maritime!

Thames valley Wing undertook a multi activity training weekend staying onboard HMS Bristol, a Royal Navy destroyer docked in Portsmouth and used as a training facility. Our cadets participated in training for first aid, leadership, instructional techniques, NCO command training for Junior and Senior NCOs and weapons handling and safety training.

Dining out in Style

2020 Started by dining out our previous commanding officer who is moving on to bigger and better things! 2020 is off to a flying start already, so keep an eye out for our successes and celebrate these with us!
