Reading Air Cadets have taken to the skies in a Merlin Helicopter from RAF Benson which was organised by ex-Reading cadet, Flt Lt Nathaniel Roberts, who is now a pilot at the Oxfordshire base.
The cadets were busy on a field craft training weekend at Bramley Training Area with Burghfield Air Cadets when their staff told them the news that they were take to the air. With a look of surprise on their face, 2 Merlins passed overhead with the lead aircraft landing in a field right in front of them.
The aircraft flew the cadets around the local area to see RAF Odiham and RAF Benson from a new perspective before dropped them back to continue their weekend – this time with smiles on their faces!
