Thames Valley Air Cadets have been celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style throughout Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
Across two weekends cadets and staff have supported numerous activities:-
In Oxford a team of cadets supported a large parade and church service in the city centre which was echoed in Reading a day later with a civic celebration and process through the streets in glorious weather to the Town Hall. Meanwhile in Wantage, local cadets carried out a faultless drill display in heavy rain to rapturous applause whilst in Burghfield cadets braved the same weather condition for a parade with the Royal British Legion where the band provided musical accompaniments. Other parades have include a Civic Parade supported by Bicester and a Church Parade in Witney.
Engagement teams from Tadley and Burghfield Air Cadets have also been out at the Tadley Treacle Fair and the Shinfield Jubilee Bash trialling the Wing Aerospace Support Platform with great success. Abingdon, Wallingford and Banbury cadets have also been supporting the Jubilee supporting many community activities including an impressive Thames side Jubilee Picnic in Wallingford.
