Although evergreen Warrant Officer Mo Merchant of 2120 (Witney) Squadron celebrated her last day in uniform as part of a Cadet 150 parade through the streets of Oxford after over 2 decades of service she will still be sharing her skills and experience as a Civilian Instructor.
Mo, a former member of the WRAF in the 1960’s, was persuaded by her daughter to join the Air Cadets in 1988. After working at various Squadrons throughout the Wing and as the Wing Warrant Officer, Mo has most recently been serving with 2120 (Witney) Squadron. During her time in uniform she has been awarded a Lord Lieutenants Certificate and a prestigious Cadet Forces Medal and Bar for her many achievements with the Corps.
A Wing spokesman said: “Mo has thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the Air Training Corps, being there for the Cadets, helping them, encouraging them and more than that, the camaraderie of the whole organisation”.
