Woodley Air cadets have been crowned Athletics champs after an action packed day of competitions Abingdon’s Tilsley Park stadium. In taking the win they narrowly beat Slough and Britwell units from a field of almost 200 cadets from 14 Squadrons from right across Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The winners in each of the competitions will now go forward to represent Thames Valley Wing at the South West Region championships. Continue reading

2402 Squadron is part of Thames Valley Wing, in the South-West Region. We parade on Monday and Wednesday evenings and take cadets aged 12+ who are in Year 8 or above.

Thames Valley Wing Mark the Centenary of the Royal Air Force in Windsor
Thames Valley Wing played a lead role when over 700 RAF Air Cadets and Adult Volunteers from across the South West Region proudly celebrated RAF100 with an unprecedented parade through the streets of Windsor. With the iconic Windsor Castle in the background, the parade drew hundreds of people onto the streets to watch as a sea of light blue took over the Royal Berkshire town for the day. Continue reading
The Falcon flies high again!
Exercise Falcon II was a progressive training weekend held recently at Crowborough Training Camp and was attended by 40 cadets and 14 instructors from 1996 (Earley) Squadron, 459 (Windsor) Squadron, 447 (Henley on Thames) Squadron, 155 (Maidenhead) Squadron, 2402 (Burghfield) Squadron, and 1116 (Woodley) Squadron. Region Activities Day 2017

Earley and Burghfield help at Reading Half Marathon
On an overcast Sunday, cadets from Earley and Burghfield Squadron arrived early to lend a hand to the organisers of the Reading Half Marathon. The squadrons were helping out with collecting, organising and returning the first 3,000 runners bags before, during and after the race. Continue reading
South West Region Inter Wing Junior Football & Hockey Competitions 2016
On Sunday 20 October 12 Junior Boys and 9 Junior Girls travelled to Tidworth Garrison, Tidworth for the South West Region Inter Wing Junior Football and Hockey Competition.
From the start the competition looked like a non-starter with only 9 girls from a squad of 12 and the boys down to a full starting 11 but only one substitute!, coupled with biblical rain on the journey and the potential of flooding at the venue. Air Cadets parade in Windsor to mark their 75th Anniversary
360 Air Cadets and over 80 adult volunteers from across the Thames Valley Air Cadets came together on Sunday, 22nd May to celebrate the Air Training corps (ATC) 75th Anniversary.

Wing Bowling 2015
On Sunday, 29 November 127 cadets and 22 staff arrived at RAF Brize Norton to take part in the annual Wing Ten Pin bowling competition.
With teams on the start line ready to roll Squadrons had the opportunity to enter two teams and also compete for the top male and female spot. As cadets took it turn to line up ready for their strikes perhaps more balls entered the gutters than made it to the centre pin! Continue reading
